The Palestinian Writers' Fund
The scholarship is open to Palestinian writers working in nonfiction, literary nonfiction, essay writing, criticism, biography, history, journalism, and other forms of creative or intellectual nonfiction. A recipients of this fellowship will receive NOK 50,000. The grant will be given to 8 writers.

The Palestinian Writers Fund is a joint initiative by the Norwegian Non-Fiction Writers and Translators Association (NFFO), the Norwegian Authors' Association (DnF), and the Tamer Institute for Community Education, with funding from Kopinor.

Norwegian Non-Fiction Writers and Translators Association (NFFO)
NFFO is Norway’s largest organization for non-fiction writers and translators. It works to strengthen non-fiction literature, protect authors’ rights and freedom of expression, and provides grants, professional support, and advocacy for more than 4,800 members.

Norwegian Authors' Association (DnF)
The Norwegian Authors’ Association (DnF) is Norway’s oldest writers’ organization, founded in 1893. It represents authors of literary fiction and works to promote Norwegian literature, defend writers’ professional interests, and support freedom of expression.

Tamer Institute for Community Education
The Tamer Institute for Community Education is an independent Palestinian non-profit organization based in Ramallah. Founded in 1989, it promotes reading, writing, creativity, and access to literature among children and young people across Palestine through publishing, educational programs, libraries, and community initiatives.

jury
The applied submissions will be evaluated by the Jury consisting of 5 Arab and Palestinian writers, scholars, and journalists and representatives of the Norwegian Non-fiction Writers and Translators Association and the Norwegian Writers Association. While determining the winners of the project, the Jury will assess the following criteria:
STYLE
The unique author’s style
SIGNIFICANCE
Social and cultural significance of the author’s idea
CAPABILITY
The author’s capability of carrying out the necessary research and processing of materials for a book

Our goal
The program is aimed to support Palestinian writers residing in historical Palestine and neighboring countries who work in non-fiction, fiction, poetry and children's literature genres to help documenting the experience of the the ongoing Nakba in literary and documentary texts. Genres include essays, biographies, novels, short stories, poetry, reportages, interviews etc.
Recipients of the stipend are expected to complete and publish a book
